The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday, 28 September announced the final changes in their squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. The host nation named veteran Ravichandran Ashwin as Axar Patel’s replacement in the 15-member side for the marquee event.

After this change, a fan of Axar Patel took to Instagram to share all-rounder's side of the story, however, which turned out to be fake in nature. The post, reportedly posted by a fan, had a human skeleton holding a scissor, cutting a heart followed by his second story which had “Should have taken science instead of Commerce and hired a better PR” written with a heartbreak emoji.
It is to be noted that Patel picked up a left quadriceps strain during India’s Asia Cup fixture against Bangladesh in Colombo on September 15. The 29-year-old hasn’t recovered yet and thus was replaced by fellow spinner R Ashwin.
