Kolka ta Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer was seen imitating star spinner Sunil Narine’s bowling action in the net practice session. The two-time IPL winners recently registered their first loss of the season, as they went down to Chennai Super Kings in a thrilling clash at the Chepauk Stadium. The loss by a margin of seven wickets ended Kolkata’s winning streak of three matches.
Ahead of the clash against Chennai Super Kings, Iyer grabbed all the limelight, when he was spotted imitating the bowling action of star spinner Sunil Narine. The batter copied the Caribbean’s bowling action to perfection, and the video of the same went viral on social media within no time. Notably, Iyer, who made his return to the cricketing tournament after missing an entire season is having a decent season, but the youngster is yet to make an impact as a captain as well as a player.
Coming back to the match, their rivals asked KKR to bat first, but the visitors could only manage to put 137 runs on the board. Iyer remained the top scorer with just 34 runs. After the game, Iyer admitted that they weren’t up to the mark and failed to assess the conditions.
Iyer said, "The wicket changed after the powerplay. We were in a comfortable place and we thought 160-170 was a good score, but we lost momentum. We have to go back to the drawing board and learn from that. I am glad this happened at the start of the tournament. When we go back, we know our home conditions pretty well. We need to analyse the situations and need to make the best use of it."
