The Indian team defeated Australia by 99 runs  (DLS) to win the 3-game ODI series in Indore's Holkar Stadium. After losing the toss, the Men in Blue got to a poor start after losing Ruturaj Gaikwad at a score of eight. But rescuing the Indian innings, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer dug in deep and posted a massive 200-run partnership.

In the process, both Gill and Iyer completed their centuries and set up the perfect platform for the middle order. Here came in Ishan Kisha, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav, who continued carnage with the bat and carried the Men in Blue to their biggest total against Australia.

Kishan chipped in with a quick-fire 31 in 17 balls while Rahul added 52 in 38 balls. But the star of the show was SKY, who smashed a magical 37-ball 72 with six fours and six sixes and carried India to a 400-run total for Australia.

Unlike the Indian batters, the Aussies struggled to get going as fast bowler Prasidh Krishna dismissed Mathew Short and Steven Smith on back-to-back deliveries. David Warner and Josh Inglis tried steading the ship but R Ashwin ran through the middle order picking up three wickets. The game was halted for a while due to rain and the game was reduced to a 33-over affair.

After the restart, assisting Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja also picked up two wickets as the Aussie batting lineup crumbled.  A late flourish by Sean Abbott and Josh Hazlewood kept Australia in the game. But the Men in Blue soon bundled out the Aussie tail and registered a massive victory to win the three-game series.
