Skyesports unveiled its first city-based BGMI esports tournament in 2024, Skyesports League 2024. The tournament will have the country’s top esports teams represent different regions and cities, and fight for the ultimate glory. Skyesports League will take place in Mumbai and will be hosted as an on-ground event in March 2024. As per the CEO of Skyesports, Shiva Nandy, the tournament will have teams representing different cities, to give a stage to regional entertainment. 

Nandy said, “The Skyesports League will be a celebration of India’s diversity and will include a regional and localized flavor never seen before in Indian esports." Not only this, but Sashank Bhandari, Head of Global Business Partnerships at Skyesports, commented on the teams participating in the tournament and said,  “While we received a huge number of applications to be a part of the Skyesports League, we have carefully shortlisted the best teams for the esports event.” 

He added, “They haven’t just been selected based on their star players or popularity but also on their ability to engage regional audiences which is the goal with the Skyesports League. We couldn’t be more excited for the tournament and the jam-packed entertainment in store for fans with esports action, music videos, memes, and celebration of localized culture.”

The teams that will participate in the forthcoming tournament will represent a city each, and they have been selected through various parameters. 

The teams that have made it to the top 16 were selected based on their past results, contribution to the ecosystem as well as the commitment to localised esports content. These names include

The event will be accessible to a live audience and will give fans a chance to cheer for their regional team in person.
