Despite being considered one of the tournament favourites after the auction, the Royal Challengers have had a poor season so far. Under Mandhana’s captaincy, the team has suffered four back-to-back defeats and is placed at the bottom of the table. Hence, the Indian international has received some horrific comments abusing her as a reaction to these results.
These comments range from Mandhana being called a ‘fraud’ to some extremely tasteless abuses. Some of these reactions also call out the RCB team management for wasting a lot of their money in the auction and also compared the women’s team to Men’s side, referring to them as ‘chokers’.

But despite this poor start, the Bangalore players are still behind Mandhana as per Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry's comments. RCB suffered a 10-wicket loss against the UP Warriorz and after this game, Perry spoke about how leading the team in a massive tournament like the WPL is an extremely daunting task.
The 32-year-old said, “It’s a ginormous task to come into a brand new competition and play with a group of players that she has never played with before and try and make that all gel in a matter of a couple of days since she joined the group,”
Perry further expressed that Mandhana is a great captain and she will soon get back to her best sooner rather than later. She said, “I think she’s a great captain too. She just needs a chance to find her feet in the tournament and she will no doubt.”
