Indian Women achieved a new milestone in the third and the final T20I against West Indies at Dy Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Batting first, India Women posted their highest total of 217/4 in the T20I format. Apart from that, Richa Ghosh also made headlines with the joint-fastest half-century in just 18 balls in the Women’s T20I, and joined the top spot with Australia’s Phoebe Litchfield and New Zealand’s Sophie Devine. 

Batting first, India Women got a poor start as Uma Chetry went for a duck in the first over. After that, Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues put up a partnership of 98 runs for the second wicket. Rodrigues got out after scoring 39 runs off 28 balls with four boundaries. After that, Mandhana went on to score her third consecutive fiftyin the T20I format. 

Richa Ghosh smashed joint fastest 50 in Women’s T20Is

Smriti Mandhana continued her great form in the T20I format and got out after scoring 77 runs off 47 balls hitting 13 fours and a six. After that, Richa Ghosh and Raghvi Anand Singh Bist added 70 runs for the fourth wicket as India Women surpassed their previous highest T20I total of 201/5. Along with that, Richa Ghosh also completed his half-century in just 18 balls to become the joint-fastest half-centurion in the Women’s T20Is.

Richa Ghosh got out after a quickfire 54(21) hitting three fours and five sixes, while Raghvi remained unbeaten on 31*(22) runs with two and a six and Indian Women set a mammoth target of 218 runs for West Indies Women to clinch the T20I series. For Windies Women, Deandra Dottin, Chenille Henry,  Aaliyah Alleyne and Afy Fletcher scalped a wicket each. Chasing the winning total, West Indies were 106/4 at the time of writing.
