The Indian team was looking like the best team in the ongoing T20 World Cup in Australia until their dreadful exit in the semi-finals against England. The Three Lions registered a dominant 10-wicket victory over India to cruise into the finals and face Pakistan in the finals. But throughout the World Cup, the Indian team has produced some incredible stars who are set to be the future of the Indian team.
One of these stars is top-order batter Suryakumar Yadav, who took the entire World Cup by storm. He had a splendid tournament with his outlandish batting talent. But after the defeat, Surya posted a heartfelt message to the Indian fans for their constant support throughout the tournament.
Yadav took to Instagram and expressed his gratitude towards the supporters for creating an ‘electrifying atmosphere’ in the stadiums throughout the World Cup. He also stated that the Indian team will be coming back stronger in the future.
He said, “Hurtful loss. So close, yet so far. Grateful to our fans who create an electrifying atmosphere, no matter where in the world we are. Thankful and proud of the unending support for each other and the hard work put in by this team and support staff. Proud to play for my country. '💙”
In the T20 World Cup, Suryakumar Yadav was the third-highest run scorer with three half-centuries and four 30 and above scores. Leaving out the first game against Pakistan and the semi-final against England, SKY batted with a strike rate of over 160. During this World Cup, Yadav was also referred to Mr 360 for his incredible array of shots and received praise from the original Mr 360 AB de Villiers.
ABD had some words of wisdom for Surya as he wants the Indian to perform consistently as it will help him reach the upper echelon of cricket. "Yes, they are [right in comparing Suryakumar with me]. The only thing he will have to concentrate on is his consistency," de Villiers told PTI. "He will have to do this for five to ten years and then he will find himself in the golden books of cricket players."
