Novak Djokovic extended his winning run against Gael Monfils to 19-0 at the Cincinnati Open. Following the Serbian’s 6-3, 6-2 victory, he signed Monfils’s shirt and lightly joked with the Frenchman about the impressive run. The dominance of the matchup has crossed into being the stuff of legends as it is now officially the most impressive head-to-head record of all time, beating Rafael Nadal’s 18-0 record against Richard Gasquet.

The photo of the signed t-shirt made waves on Twitter. The picture shows Djokovic leaving a cheeky message for the Frenchman with a smiley face and signature. It also featured the date and the number 19 to signify an impressive accomplishment. The Serbian wrote, “Sorry, not sorry.”
Speaking about his history with Monfils, Djokovic said, “It was kind of an evolution of both players over the past 15-plus years that we've been playing each other in different parts of the world, also in juniors. I think early on I struggled a lot with him, I think physically as well. When you play one of the most athletic guys on the Tour, you have to be ready, every ball comes back. A couple of points today, especially in the first set he showed his athleticism."
Djoko vic chases third Cincinnati Open win, rematch with Alcaraz
The Serbian is back in top form and will be looking to win his third Cincinnati Open title. He won the tournament for the first time in 2018, which completed a Career Golden Masters, topping his trophy collection of the ATP Masters 1000. He is currently 17-1 on hard courts this year. After dispatching Monfils, with relative ease, the Serbian remains on course to face Alcaraz.
