The former Proteas player feels that the final of the multinational event will be played between India and South Africa. He added that the 2023 hosts are the prime runners for the trophy, but they might face additional pressure in the knockout stage.
Kallis was in a conversation with one of the leading channels where he said, “I feel it will be an India vs South Africa final. Though India are the favourites to lift the trophy… going forward they might feel the pressure of being the host nation. They are really looking good but in semis, it will be a new start for them as well.”
The 48-year-old made a remark about the five-time champions Australia, who made a stellar comeback in the ongoing tournament. Kallis is of the opinion that Australia might be a threat to both India and South Africa. He said, "Australia can be one of the threats for both teams, considering their strong comeback after the early defeats." Notably, India and South Africa will lock horns on November 5 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
