In his latest interview, Kagiso Rabada, the South African fast bowling sensation, spoke about clean sweeping Bangladesh 2-0 in the upcoming Test series in the subcontinent this month. Notably, the first Test of the two-match series is slated to begin on Monday, October 21, at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka before the action moves to Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram for the second Test, starting on October 29.

During their one-sided rivalry in Test cricket, South Africa have won 12 out of 14 Test matches against Bangladesh with the first match being played between them just over two decades ago. The two drawn Test matches between both these two nations happened largely due to rain in Bangladesh during the 2015 series, which was hosted at the height of the rainy season in the subcontinental nation.

It is going to be a tough series without any doubt and we are ready: Kagiso Rabada on Bangladesh challenge

When Kagiso Rabada was asked by T-sports about his South Africa’s goal in the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, he was categorical in his response and said, as per Cricbuzz, “Hopefully 2-0,” before stating that “it is going to be a tough series without any doubt and we are ready.” It is important to note that Kagiso Rabada is yet to play a Test in Bangladesh, but he has played a couple of matches against them at home, picking up 15 wickets in four innings.

The 29-year-old also spoke about his experiences of playing in Bangladesh over the years, and remarked, “Last time we played here in the ODIs. It was 2014. From what I remember, there was a bit of bounce and a little bit of seam movement. But as soon as the grass is taken off, it can turn.” The conditions produced by Bangladesh for Test cricket often lean on helping the spin bowlers dictate terms from day one onwards, allowing pacers like Kagiso Rabada little to no help from the pitches.

“I was here on the Test tour as well, where Bangladesh had scored around 250 for 2 and then it started to rag. But then it rained for the rest of the day, so couldn't really get an indication of how it was going to play,” Kagiso Rabada further added.
