ind vs sl 3rd odi match prediction betting odds

India has already registered another series win over Sri Lanka after taking an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match series. The Rohit Sharma-led team beat Sri Lanka by 4 wickets to go 2 -0 up. Although it was a comfortable win for India, Sri Lanka put up a fight. Debutant Nuwanidu Fernando led the charge for the visitors, scoring his maiden half-century in the second ODI. However, Sri Lanka made too many mistakes and could not perform with the bat.

Nevertheless, Sri Lanka will look to put this series loss defeat   them and come prepared for the final ODI scheduled to take place on 15 January and avoid a clean sweep. The Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram will host the third and final ODI of the series. But who has an upper hand going into the last game of the series?

Let’s look at who is expected to win the match and other possible events.

1. Toss Prediction

Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka has won the toss in both the ODIs. Prior to this game, Shanaka won one out of the three tosses in the T20I series and seeing this, the visitors might continue the winning streaking at the toss.

2. Win Possibility

India put on a clinical performance in the first as well as the second ODI, winning it by 67 runs and 4 wickets respectively. While the batters put on a run fest, the bowlers did a good job in the first ODI. The Indian bowling attack once again starred in the second ODI with spinner Kuldeep Yadav and Md Siraj both scalping three wickets each. However, the young Sri Lankan debutant showed his class. With the final ODI taking place in Thiruvananthapuram, a tough contest is expected. But India will be the favourite to win considering the balance as well as with home advantage on their side.

3. Team of the Day

With bowlers also performing consistently and atleast one of the players to perform with the bat, India is the Team of the Day for the third ODI.

4. Predicted powerplay score and average first innings total

India scored 67 runs in the first ten overs in the 2nd ODI at Eden Gardens and will be expected to bat with a similar approach. So, the powerplay score is expected to be 55 - 70.  The pitch at Greenfield International Stadium has hosted several low scoring games with the team batting first having the advantage to win the game. Thus, the average first innings score is expected to be around 132-140.
