The Tuesday evening is booked for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The two heavyweights of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will take on each other at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. With all sorts of excitement building around the game, RCB's social media handle went on to call it IPL's El Clasico. "Battle of the Big Guns. It’s time for IPL’s El Clásico," wrote the franchise on its social media handles.
But Twitter users did not look too pleased with this and started trolling the team for calling it that. "El Clasico used for two best teams in the tournament, that is MI and CSK Always. How many trophies has RCB won?. Praising yourself is fine but over Praise with zero trophies," reminded a user to the franchise.
A few other users also bashed out the Bengaluru-based franchise. A user asked it to "Stay in limits".
Notably, Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings has been termed the El Clasico of Indian Premier League (IPL) over the years. And fans of both teams take pride in that. Thus, this post from RCB did not go really well with those fans.
