Australia has announced an 18-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against India, in the build-up to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 next month. On September 17, Sunday, the five-time world champions got a huge boost with the return of key players to their side, including the likes of the captain Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Glenn Maxwell, and Steve Smith, who weren’t available for the limited overs tour to South Africa earlier this month, after getting injured in the recent past.

Notably, the first ODI of the three-match series between India and Australia will be played at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on September 22, Friday. The second ODI will happen two days later at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore, before the series finishes with the third and final match at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on September 27.

Glenn Maxwell, who suffered a minor ankle injury during a training session on the tour to South Africa, is picked in the 18-member squad for the tour to India as well.

Furthermore, Travis Head will be a massive miss for Australia against India at the top of the order, after he suffered a fracture on his left hand off the bowling of Gerald Coetzee, with no timeline for recovery specified as of right now. The incident happened during the fourth ODI of the five-match series against South Africa at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.
