Al-Ettifaq is reportedly set to make a last-minute attempt to sign Jadon Sancho on a loan. After last weekend's 3-1 loss at Arsenal, Erik ten Hag publicly lashed out at the English winger's training attitude, which caused Sancho's relationship with the team to worsen. As a result, Sancho has been demoted to the Manchester United squad's periphery.

In response, Sancho said that he had been made the "scapegoat" for United's problems, and there is a growing suspicion that the player-manager dynamic is about to collapse. Sancho published a lengthy message on social media arguing that the reported claim made by Ten Hag is false.

According to CBS Sports, Al Ettifaq has started talking about a deal that would send the 23-year-old to the Saudi Pro League for the rest of the season in an effort to persuade Sancho to leave Old Trafford, at least temporarily. Al-Ettifaq would be willing to include a buy option in the agreement, but considering that the Saudi window shuts in less than 12 hours, sources familiar with the talks think it is more probable that the clubs will settle on a simple loan arrangement.

Al-Ittihad is inching closer to acquiring Luiz Felipe from Real Betis on a chaotic deadline day in the Saudi Pro League, giving them the centre-back they have been chasing after ahead of the Club World Cup, but they are no closer to acquiring Mohamed Salah after an opening bid was turned down by Liverpool.

After making a name for himself as one of the top young players in football at Borussia Dortmund, Jadon Sancho signed with Manchester United. But things haven't worked out the way he had hoped for his Old Trafford career. He has not performed well for Manchester United since his 2021 transfer from Borussia Dortmund. For the Red Devils, he has made 82 appearances, making 12 goals and six assists. Sancho has made six appearances this season but has yet to contribute to a goal.
