India wicket-keeping-batter KL Rahul opened up on losing the ODI World Cup 2023. Rahul shared an emotional post four days after the World Cup heartbreak, where the Men in Blue lost the final to Australia. India were handed a six-wicket defeat against the Baggy Greens on November 19, Sunday, who went on to lift the coveted trophy for a record sixth time in the last ten editions.

Expressing his feelings on social media, the Indian cricket team’s vice-captain penned an emotional note on social media. Rahul, who played a key role in ensuring the team a 10-match undefeated run in the ICC spectacle, posted a few pictures from the World Cup 2023 finale. He captioned the post “still hurts”, adding a heart-break emoticon to it.

In the summit clash of the tournament, Rahul played the highest-scoring knock for the hosts. The 31-year-old scored 66 runs from 107 balls while playing 49 dot balls and taking 52 singles as well as five doubles. The Men in Blue displayed brilliant-class cricket in the entire tournament, where they registered all their league-stage matches as well as their semifinal clash against New Zealand.

However, their effort fell short in the final of the tournament, and lost the match by a margin of six wickets. In their upcoming clashes, India, under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, will lock horns with Australia in a five-match T20I series in India.
