Indian top-order batter KL Rahul’s wife Athiya Shetty has shared a strongly worded statement after a video about the Lucknow Super Giants captain in a London nightclub went viral. Rahul is currently in England as he underwent surgery after getting injured in IPL 2023.
KL Rahul suffered his injury while playing against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. The LSG captain was chasing a ball in the outfield in the second over but immediately went down holding his thigh in pain before limping off the field. Since then he was shifted to England for further surgery. But recently in a clip that has been making rounds on the internet, he was spotted in a nightclub in London called Luxx Club.
With the video surfacing, many news outlets picked up as it garnered a lot of fan attention, questioning KL Rahul’s commitment to his rehab. Reacting to this Athiya Shetty, released a statement calling out those who were making false claims.
Athyia Shetty’s statement said, “I usually choose to be silent and not react, but sometimes it's important to stand up for yourself. Rahul, I and our friends went out to a regular place, as one does. Stop taking things out of context, and check your facts before reporting. Peace and love”
