While Mohammed Shami starred with the ball with a fifer, Virat Kohli did the part with the bat with a crucial 95-run knock off 104 balls. While the former India skipper missed a century by five runs, his knock along with the two catches were much appreciated. Not only did the fans hailed the stalwart’s knock, calling it to be “no less than a century”, his wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma also had a special message.
The “Chakda Xpress” actor was thrilled and poured her love on Instagram for husband Virat Kohli as she shared a reel featuring King Kohli which read “Always proud of you” with a heart emoji. Not only this, but the actor also hailed the batter, calling him “Storm chaser” in another story.
It is to be noted that if Kohli would have reached a century against New Zealand, he would have equalled Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 centuries in ODIs.
While the Men in Blue comfortably sit at the top of the table, becoming the first team to reach 10 points in standings, they will next take on England at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on October 29.
