IPL 2024 champions KKR, after retaining key players like Rinku Singh, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Varun Chakravarthy, Harshit Rana, and Ramandeep Singh, made some promising acquisitions in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The most expensive acquisition done by the franchise was Venkatesh Iyer for Rs 23.75 crore. Anrich Nortje is the next big purchase for Rs 6.50 crore.
KKR also bought back Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Vaibhav Arora, but Ajinkya Rahane and Moeen Ali's acquisition at the end of the event proved crucial for them. The team needed to refocus, especially since their IPL 2024 coach, Gautam Gambhir, left to become Team India's head coach. Sunil Narine is a promising opener for KKR for the next season, following his outstanding performance in the IPL 2024. His combination with South Africa's Quinton de Kock, who is also the wicket keeper is a boost for the team to have a good opening. Narine, in his 14 innings of IPL 2024, scored 488 runs with 109 being the highest. Similarly, de Kock played 11 matches with 250 runs, and 81 is the highest score. The duo would keep the guiding light ablaze right from the beginning.
