After an exhilarating performance in the Test series against West Indies, Rohit Sharma is leading his boys in a three-game ODI series. The first two matches of the series commencing on July 27 are to be played in Barbados. During the game, Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, decided to field first after winning the toss. However, what caught everyone’s eyes was Suryakumar Yadav wearing Sanju Samson’s jersey, who was snubbed in the first game against the Caribbeans.
For the first ODI game against West Indies, the team had two options to choose from for the wicketkeeper’s slot. While it was expected that Sanju Samson could get a chance in the playing XI, Ishant Sharma managed to grab his spot in the squad with Samson getting benched out. However, during the match, Suryakumar Yadav, India’s T20I expert, who made it to the squad decided to do something special for Samson and was spotted wearing his jersey.
Though neither Yadav nor anybody else from the team talked about the real reason behind it, this gesture of Yadav was highly appreciated by fans on social media. Speaking of the squad, fast bowler Mukesh Kumar made his debut for his side, with Kuldeep Yadav getting preference over Yuzvendra Chahal.
Speaking of SKY, as Yadav is fondly known as, the right-handed batsman got a place in the squad to bat at number 6, with Ravindra Jadeja slotted at number 7.
