The T20 World Cup has brought some surprises to a few and some obvious as well as shocking results to a few others. While some matches have been conducted without rain gods' interruption, some matches have been called off or abandoned with rain playing a spoilsport.

With rain again delaying the start of match between Afghanistan and New Zealand after the England vs Ireland ended with the latter winning the game by DLS Method at the same venue. However, ahead of the start of this match, a big news has come around.

Afghanistan has been hit with a major blow as their star batter in Hazratullah Zazai has sustained a muscle strain. The batter sustained this injury during the training session ahead of their clash against New Zealand on Wednesday.

However, the batsman is said to be fit in a few days ahead of their next game against Ireland, scheduled to take place on October 28 (Friday).

Talking about Afghanistan's performance so far in the competition, the Md Nabi-led side suffered their first loss at the hands of the England side on the first day of the Super 12 stage. However, their second game against New Zealand which was scheduled to be held on October 26 was abandoned without a ball being bowled. After this result, both teams have shared a point each with the Afghan side still reeling at the bottom of the table.
