Rohit Sharma-led Team India is touring Australia for the highly-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 series, which kick started on November 22 in Perth. While the Men in Blue had a memorable outing in Perth, winning the first Test by 295 runs, the side travelled to Canberra for the two-day warm-up match against the Prime Minister’s XI, which is underway at the Manuka Oval.
Although the first day of the practice match was washed away without toss, reports have revealed that the Indian team wasn’t convinced of the arrangements, leading to Cricket Australia (CA) being accused of mistreating the touring team.
CA accussed of mistreating Team India in Canberra
According to several reports, as quoted by OneCricket, the Australian cricket body has been accused of mistreating the Indian cricket team in Canberra during the two-day warm-up match against Australia’s Prime Minister’s XI. These reports surface after the Indian players were spotted unattended at the venue without any cover.
At the same time, the Australian security staff were seen carrying umbrellas, but with the visiting team leaving unattended, led to all the talking. Moreover, several fans are alleging that the incident put the travelling team at risk of coping an injury just days ahead of the pink-ball Test, set to be played from December 6 onwards at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.
