After four days of grueling action at the League of Legends tournament in Esports World Cup 2024, Team T1 clinched the title, beating the likes of Top Esports. T1 beat their opponent, who were the most anticipated team to win the title by a decisive scoreline of 3-1. 

Although Team T1 hadn’t been fan favourite since the start of the tournament, especially after their loss against KT Rolster on June 29, 2024 in the LCK split, but they buckled up to put impressive performance and beat the likes of Bilibili Gaming, Team Liquid and others. The T1 team etched their name into history book after their triumph at the inaugural League of Legends event at the Esports World Cup, along with a massive prize money of USD 400,000. 

Speaking of their performance at the League of Legends event at the Esports World Cup, Team T1 beat Bilibili Gaming by 2-1 scoreline in the quarterfinals. Later, they went on to beat Team Liquid in the semifinals by 2-1, and advancing to the finals. In the summit clash, they defeated Top Esports, one of the top contenders by 3-1 margin to lift the title. 

Faker win MVP in League of Legends Esports World Cup 2024

While Team T1 lifted the title and prize money worth USD 400,000, Faker was named the MVP in the event at the Esports World Cup 2024. It is to be noted that Faker has been a dominant force in the League of Legends roster. This follows his League of Legends Hall of Fame induction, which happened earlier this year.
