Carlos Alcaraz, the world No. 1 tennis player, and a die-hard Real Madrid fan, has revealed his all-time football dream 11, which includes some of the best players in history. The Spaniard picked seven players who represented Real Madrid including Cristiano Ronaldo, Iker Casillas, and Luka Modric among others while he also picked Barcelona legends Lionel Messi, Carles Puyol, and Andres Iniesta.
Alcaraz, who recently won his second Masters 1000 title of the year at the Madrid Open, is a huge admirer of Real Madrid and its players and has even received support from some of the club's stars, such as Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, during his matches in Madrid. The 20-year-old, who is also a keen footballer himself, shared his dream 11 and his team features a mix of current and former players from different clubs and countries but with a clear preference for Real Madrid.
In goal, Alcaraz chose Iker Casillas, the legendary Real Madrid and Spain goalkeeper who won three Champions League titles. In defense, he opted for Sergio Ramos, another Real Madrid icon and Spain's most-capped player, along with former Barcelona captain Carles Puyol. On the flanks, Alcaraz selected the Brazilian duo of Roberto Carlos as left-back, and Cafu as right-back.
In midfield, Alcaraz went for a trio of creative and dynamic players: Luka Modric, Andres Iniesta, and Zinedine Zidane. Modric, the Croatian maestro who won the Ballon d'Or in 2018, edged out Xavi Hernandez, the Barcelona and Spain legend who is considered one of the best midfielders of all time. Iniesta who won the sextuple with Barcelona and a World Cup with Spain also scored the winning goal in the finals and Zidane, the French genius who led France to World Cup glory in 1998, completed the midfield.
Up front, Alcaraz chose Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Ronaldo Nazario as his attackers. Ronaldo, the Portuguese superstar who is Real Madrid's all-time top scorer and has won five Ballons d'Or, was an obvious choice for Alcaraz. Messi, the Argentine wizard who is Barcelona's all-time top scorer, was another no-brainer. "The Phenomenon" Ronaldo is the last on the list as one of the most lethal strikers in the history of football, who gave nightmares to the best defenders in his career.
