Former India skipper and six-time IPL winning captain from Chennai Super Kings enjoys a huge fan following not only in India but globally. He is often regarded as an icon associated with sports overall. He gathers love, respect and admiration not only for his on-field antics and decisions but even for his off-the field presence.

 

In a recent turn of events, the CSK skipper was mentioned in a textbook , but shockingly it wasn’t in reference to cricket. However, the 41-year-old was shown in the textbook  as a footballer, leaving everyone in shock.

 

However, the book also featured Indian mainstay Virat Kohli as a cricketer, it had Nepal cricketer Gyanendra Malla also mentioned incorrectly as a football player. Malla is a top-order batter in the Nepal cricket team.

 

It is to be noted that the IPL 2023 winning captain is equally a passionate follower of football and has been seen playing the sport in several exhibition matches. Dhoni also owns a football team in the India Super League.

 

‘Thala’ as he is often reckoned as amongst his Chennai fan following, MS Dhoni cleared is stance on playing another year to thank the fans for whatever they have done for the legend.
