After Tottenham’s 1-1 draw against Rangers in UEFA Europa League on December 13, the club Manager Ange Postecoglou has given hints that Timo Werner might not play for them again in the future during his interview after the match. He slammed the German footballer for his poor show against Rangers and it looks like he will return to his Bundesliga club RB Leipzig in January.

“Right now that is the furthest thing from my mind. I’m just not interested in what happens next. I’m interested in what happens now. In these next five games between now/New Year we can set up our season,” Ange Postecoglou shared his thoughts on Werner’s possible return to RB Leipzig.

Not Acceptable: Ange Postecoglou slams Timo Werner for poor performance against Rangers

Ange Postecogloe was clearly disappointed with Timo Werner for his poor performance against Rangers during the UEFA Europa League fixture. Notably, Tottenham bought the German footballer on loan from RB Leipzig in 2024. He didn’t have a memorable outing against Rangers where he lost possession 16 times.

"When you've got 18-year-olds, it's not acceptable to meI said that to Timo, he's a German international. In the moment we're in right now - it's not like we've got many options, I need everyone to at least be going out there and trying to give the best of themselves. His performance in the first half wasn't acceptable,” Postecoglou was quoted as saying by Fotmob.

“We need everybody, including him, to be contributing because we don't have the depth to leave people out if they perform poorly,” Tottenham manager further said. Tottenham will play their next fixture against Southampton in the Premier League 2024-25 at St Mary's Stadium on December 16.
