Gary Neville's recent interview with Everton midfielder Dele Alli has gone viral recently, in which he recalled several traumatic incidents from his childhood. But after that, a close family member denied multiple of those claims made by the footballer.

The 27-year-old revealed he was sexually abused at the age of six and was dealing drugs at age eight. Then he was sent to Africa (to his father) to learn discipline and then was sent back. “Twelve, I was adopted and from then, it was like – I was adopted by an amazing family like I said, I couldn’t have asked for better people to do what they’d done for me. If God created people, it was them” Dele told Overlap in an interaction.

A recent revelation by Dele’s family member has left everyone surprised, and the authenticity and truthfulness behind his interview with Overlap is being questioned.

According to the family member who spoke in an interaction with OJBSPORT, stated, “Dele was never adopted by anyone. At age seven, Dele attended one of the best schools in Lagos, Nigeria. He was never sent to Africa for discipline. That’s a blatant lie. He had a driver that picked him up daily from school. We have all the documents and pictures of Dele with his dad from when he was born as a kid. Dele has been brainwashed.” said the family member.

Now the question is which of the following’s statements is true? Both statements are contradicting each other. As the said events allegedly happened 15-20 years ago, it is difficult to verify the authenticity of the statements.

Alli joined Beşiktaş in Turkey on August 25, 2022, with a loan agreement for the rest of the 2022-23 campaign and a buyout option for the Turkish club. On September 4, 2022, he made his second appearance for the team and scored his first goal in more than a year to assist the team defeat Ankaragücü 3-2. Enol Güneş, who assumed control of the team on October 28, said Alli was "below expectations in terms of efficiency," referring to his difficulties with Beşiktaş.

Alli didn't appear in any games for Beşiktaş after February 26, 2023, and after scoring just twice in 13 games for the squad, he was sent back to Everton in April for treatment on an injury while Beşiktaş tried to revoke his season-long loan.
