After winning the men’s basketball Olympic gold in Paris, LeBron James gave Team USA Class of 2024 a nickname, calling them “The Avengers,” just like the “Dream Team” of 1992 and the “Redeem Team” of 2008. In the men’s basketball final at the Paris 2024, the USA defeated the hosts France 98-87, to win their 17th Olympic gold medal.
In the big final, Steph Curry was the massive difference maker for the USA, scoring a team-high 24 points, which included four three-pointers in the last few minutes. At the Accor Arena, in front of their home fans, the French team pushed the Americans to their limit with Victor Wembanyama scoring 26 points, but when Steph Curry found his rhythm, the avalanche came in his words, securing a fifth straight gold medal in the process.
The all-time Olympic record for the USA men’s basketball team now stands at a whopping 143-5, leading to 20 medals. After the debacle at the Athens Olympics in 2004, the Americans have a 36-1 record at the games, with LeBron James firmly at the forefront of it.
Steph Curry and his son Canon Curry hit “Night Night” celebration
Following the Olympic gold medal win for the USA men’s basketball team, Steph Curry was spotted hitting the famous “Night Night” celebration with his son Canon Curry. The Americans got the better of France 98-87 in a high-octane men’s basketball final at the Paris Olympics 2024, following which they celebrated wildly inside the Accor Arena in the French capital.
Steph Curry, who has won the FIBA Basketball World Cups with Team USA in 2010 and 2014, made his first appearance at the Olympics in Paris. The Americans have a 26-0 in men’s basketball with him on the roster.
