Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batting legend Virat Kohli has talked about his bond with the star Mumbai Indians (MI) cricketer Rohit Sharma while playing for Team India together. RCB will clash with MI in the 20th Indian Premier League (IPL) match to be held at the Wankhede Stadium on April 7. Before the contest between the two sides, Kohli’s video is getting viral on social media in which he is discussing his equation with his Team India colleague. Both of them have been playing together for their national side for the last 17 years and during this period, guided India to the T20 World Cup 2024 victory apart from Champions Trophy 2013 and 2025 titles.

The RCB veteran said he shares a natural bond with Rohit Sharma as the two kicked off their international careers togetherm, and over the years, they have built a stellar level of understanding related to the game. “I think it's a very natural thing to take place when you play with someone for so long and you share so much of your insight of the game initially, your learning from each other, you're kind of growing in your careers at probably the same time, and you share all kind of queries and questions,” said Kohli in a clip posted by RCB on X.

Virat Kohli also revealed how they both worked together in the leadership group and remarked it was the faith in each other that strengthened their equation. “So there's a lot of back and forth that happens and also the fact that, you know, we worked very closely in terms of the leadership for the team, so there were always ideas discussed and more or less, we would end up on the same page in terms of the gut feel of that situation - there is a trust factor and do the job for the team,” he added.

Virat Kohli will look be among the runs against MI at the Wankhede Stadium

Virat Kohli hasn’t performed upto the expectations in the last couple of games for RCB. After delivering an unbeaten half-century in the opening game against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the 36-year-old looked disastrous with his bat against Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans (GT).

Forgetting his previous failures, the star player will endeavour to come heavily on MI bowlers in the upcoming game. Rohit, who couldn’t be a part of MI’s playing XI against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), will also have to deliver a solid performance to his team if he recovers from his minor injury and gets a spot in MI’s 11-member squad.
