The Men in Blue are in their top form at the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The Rohit Sharma-led Team India comfortably sit at the top of the table in the standings, having won all three games so far in the marquee tournament. While the captain himself has been crucial for the side, scoring a brilliant ton against Afghanistan and then taking his side to a comprehensive win against Pakistan with 86 off 63.

While Jasprit Bumrah was the star with the ball for the Men in Blue on a tricky pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium against Afghanistan in Delhi, Mohammed Siraj seemed to have an off day as he conceded 76 runs from his nine overs at the economy of 8.40. Seeing this, several fans questioned Siraj. This did not sit out well with former Indian cricketer S Sreesanth and looked baffled with some talking of Shami to replace Siraj.

While speaking to Sportskeeda, the 40-year-old said, “Before the match, people were saying ‘Why is Shardul playing?’ And soon as Siraj started going for runs, people started saying ‘Why is Siraj playing?’” The former Indian pacer called such people, tagging them as “topi master”.

“These are topi masters. The camera was being panned at Shami and Ashwin again and again. We should back the team that is selected,” Sreesanth further added.

The Men in Blue will next take on Bangladesh in their next match at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on October 19.
