Poland striker Robert Lewandowski, who arrived at the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper ahead of Barcelona's afternoon training session on Thursday, had his reportedly 70,000 euros worth watch stolen by a miscreant.

Robert Lewandowski joined Spanish giants Barcelona from the Bundesliga club, Bayern Munich on a £42.5 million transfer fee last month.

Before the training session, Lewandowski stopped outside club's Ciudad complex to greet fans. Amid distractions, one fan managed to open the passenger side door of the Polish international's car and stole his expensive watch.

Lewandowski, who will turn 34 on Sunday, reportedly ran after the thief, who was eventually caught by the Spanish police. The police arrested the miscreant and returned the high-price asset to the grateful footballer.

Barcelona played a goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano in their opening LaLiga 2022-23 fixture on August 14 at the Camp Nou. After their opening LaLiga game, Lewandowski admitted that he struggled against Rayo Valecano. He said, "I was surprised when I saw six players inside their area and one of them marking me. This does not happen in the Bundesliga. This way of playing is anti-football. I hope it’s the only team in the league that plays like this."

The Catalans are scheduled to face Real Sociedad in their second league game at the Reale Arena on August 22.
