Carson Wentz, a former quarterback for the Washington Commanders and a Super Bowl winner with  Philadelphia Eagles, has sparked outrage among NFL fans after he killed a black bear and bragged about it on social media. The 29-year-old is currently on vacation and posted a photo of himself posing with the dead animal on his Instagram account.

Wentz, who is currently a free agent after leaving the Commanders last season, is known for his passion for hunting. The quarterback has previously posted photos of himself hunting deer, ducks, and geese and has also faced backlash for giving his offensive linemen shotguns as Christmas gifts in 2016.

As expected the post did not get the best reception from fans as they slammed the football player for killing animals and questioned his character by inferring that no one has such a disgraceful act as a part of their 'bucket list'. Wentz captioned the photo, "Got the opportunity to spot and stalk a black bear in one of our new favorite places on earth— Alaska! Incredible trip and an incredible animal!"

The photo, which has received over 70,000 likes, has also attracted a lot of criticism from fans and animal lovers, who slammed Wentz for his cruel and unnecessary act. One person commented, "Who has killing animals on their bucket list???" while another reacted, "So incredible that you killed him, just why?" Many sports fans criticized Wentz for his cruel act and wrote, "You let me down and fantasy football and now you let me down in real life." Another stated, "This is plain horrific why would you want to do this?! This is not a sport this is murder."

Apart from them, some people defended the act as they commented, "Wait till people find out where cheeseburgers come from," another wrote, "Comment section not gonna be happy when they find out where their meat at the grocery store comes from…," a third fan commented, "The fact that people comment about an animal being killed but then have no problem eating chicken, beef, fish lmaoooooooo."

The Super Bowl LII winner with the Eagles is not the only NFL player who enjoys hunting as former Denver Broncos star Derek Wolfe claimed he received death threats after he and his children hunted a mountain lion in 2019. Hunting is a popular sport in the US, especially among large animals like bears but many people consider it unethical and cruel, as it threatens the survival of wildlife and causes unnecessary suffering.
