The Rohit Sharma-led Team India bundled out the English side at the score of 353 with Joe Root reaching smashing 122* off 274 deliveries. With Joe Root and Ollie Robinson accumulating most of the runs, the England pacer had to depart after scoring 58 runs. Soon after his departure, it was Shoaib Bashir who took the guards.
As soon as the young spinner took the field in the 102nd over, Sarfaraz Khan, who was stationed at silly point decided to have a quick banter with a Test old England spinner. Pointing at one of his teammates, Sarfaraz Khan said that Bashir does not know Hindi. However, to everyone’s surprise, Bashir was quick to reply.
“Isko Hindi nahi aati hai (He does not know Hindi),” Sarfaraz Khan said. To this Bashir hilariously replied, “Aati hai thodi thodi (I know a little bit).”
Speaking of the match, at Tea on Day 2 of the ongoing Test, India had posted 131/4 with Sarfaraz Khan (1 off 7) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (54 off 96). Shoaib Bashir was the pick from the bowlers for England, scalping three wickets in the second session.
