Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) opener Shaqkere Parris smashed a 124-meter six during his 29-run knock in match number 19 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 against Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) at Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain on Thursday, September 19. Trinbago Knight Riders registered a convincing five-wicket win against Guyana Amazon Warriors to get second spot in the points table with four wins in five matches.

Coming to chase a target of 149 runs against Guyana Amazon Warriors, Shaqkere Parris and Sunil Narine opened the innings for Trinbago Knight Riders. On the fifth ball of the third over by Gudakesh Motie, Parris smashed a monstrous six of 124 meters that ended up landing on the roof. This was one of the biggest sixes in cricket history and biggest ever in the CPL. Shaqkere Parris got out after scoring a run-a-ball 29 runs with the help of two fours and two sixes.

Tim David, Andre Russell guide Trinbago Knight Riders to five-wicket win

Batting first, Guyana Amazon Warriors posted a total of 148/7 after Romaria Shephard top scoring with an unbeaten 51 off 24 with three fours and four sixes. He stitched together a 72-run stand for the eight wicket with Dwaine Pretorius, who got 21 off 25, supporting him wonderfully from the other end. Apart from that, opener Tim Robinson also scored 34 off 28. For the Knight Riders, Sunil Narine and Waqar Salamkheil took two wickets each, while Dwayne Bravo and Akeal Hosein picking up a wicket each. 

In the run chase, Trinbago Knight Riders didn’t get a great start as they lost five wickets for 89 runs in 15 overs despite Shaqkere Parris's blitz power-hitting, smashing a monstrous six at the Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain. After that, Andre Russell (36* off 15) and Tim David (31* off 24) put up an unbeaten partnership of 60 runs as Knight Riders chased the target in 19.2 overs while losing five wickets.
