Day 12 of the Tokyo Olympics 2020 games proved to be a roller-coaster ride for the Indian sports fanatics. With the Asian and Commonwealth Games gold medalist javelin thrower, Neeraj Chopra qualifying with dominance into the finals, boxer Lovlina Borgohain and Indian women’s hockey team lost their semi-final match-ups. However, the North-eastern boxer did secure a third Olympic medal for the country. Moreover, wrestler Ravi Kumar also paved his way through into the gold medal match after nail-biting finish.
Surprisingly, the Chinese contingent was unable to seize any gold medal against their name on Day 12 of the Tokyo Olympics. Yet their lead at the top of the medal tally remains intact courtesy to their 32 gold medals. Having said that, it proved to be a day of jubilation for Great Britain as they took the fourth spot in the medal tally behind Japan.
