It is to be noted that the MCA addressed Shaw’s on and off-field behaviour, dismissing his emotional outburst after being left out of the squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy. According to a MCA official, Shaw has repeatedly violated disciplinary regulations. "The ball would pass near him, and he would barely make an effort to reach it," the official said, speaking anonymously to PTI.

"Even while batting, he struggled to reach the ball. His fitness, discipline, and attitude are lacking, and we cannot have different rules for different players," the official further claimed. Moreover, the actions exceeded the limit as he missed training sessions and frequently returned to team hotels at odd hours, mounting to the frustration among senior members of the team and as well as officials.

Speaking of Mumbai team, the Shreyas Iyer-led side, who have been placed in Group C, have begun their Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign against Karnataka at the Narendra Modi Stadium B Ground in Ahmedabad. The side have been invited to bat first by Karnataka. They will next play Hyderabad on Monday, December 23 at the same venue.
