Domestic cricket legend and current Sports Minister of Bengal Manoj Tiwary who announced his retirement from all forms of cricket a few days has once again taken back his decision after having a discussion with CAB president Snehasis Ganguly. Initially, Manoj Tiwary announced his retirement through an Instagram post but as per reports currently, he is once again expected to continue playing for his Bengal side in domestic cricket.

Manoj Tiwary despite being a stalwart in domestic cricket has managed to have got only limited opportunities when it comes to playing international cricket due to the heavy competition that he faced during his time from other players like Rohit Sharma, Yusuf Pathan, Suresh Raina, Robin Uthappa, etc. 

Here, in this article, we will have a look at the top-5 knocks of Manoj Tiwary in domestic cricket.

1. 210* vs Mumbai, Ranji Trophy 2006/07
21-year-old Manoj Tiwary recorded his maiden double century (210*) against Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy 2006/07 edition and showed his class at a very young age. His knock helped the Bengal team to post a total of 578/7 (declare) and Mumbai struggled to go past the Bengal side as they were enforced follow-on also but in the end, they managed to draw the game.

2. 233* vs Saurashtra, Ranji Trophy 2010/11
Manoj Tiwary who was leading Bengal side in that Ranji Trophy scored his third double hundred in FC career in a brilliant fashion against Saurashtra in Rajkot. Saurashtra batting first posted a huge total of 423 runs on board, however, a solid double hundred from Manoj Tiwary helped Bengal to post a total of 569/7 (take of lead of 146 runs) and salvaged some pride for his side. 

3. 267 vs Madhya Pradesh, Ranji Trophy 2011/12
Manoj Tiwary who was once again leading the Bengal side in that Ranji Trophy edition played a brilliant knock scoring 267 runs from 394 balls in that match and helped his team to post a total of 496 runs on board. Manoj Tiwary's brilliant knock was well backed by a century from Arindam Das as well and notably, former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly also played his last Ranji season for the Bengal team in that match.

Manoj Tiwary was also very hand with the ball in that game by picking two wickets but unfortunately, the opponent side Madhya Pradesh scored 533 runs (took a lead of 37 runs) and the match ended in a draw.

4. 151 vs North Zone, Deodhar Trophy 2014/15
Manoj Tiwary scored a stunning knock of 151 runs from 121 balls in the semi-final match of the Deodhar Trophy 2014/15 and helped his side to beat North Zone by 52 runs. This was notably, Manoj Tiwary's highest score in List A cricket, and notably, this knock helped East Zone to qualify for the finals of the Deodhar Trophy. Manoj Tiwary as captain also lead East Zone to win a title in that Deodhar Trophy edition.

5. 303* vs Hyderabad, Ranji Trophy 2019/20
The Bengal team winning the toss opted to bat first and posted a huge total of 635/7 with the help of a maiden triple century (303*) from Manoj Tiwary in FC cricket.  Notably, Manoj Tiwary scored 303*(414) and none of the other batters scored a century in that game at Kalyani Stadium, Bengal. 

Manoj Tiwary's triple hundred helped the Bengal team to beat Hyderabad by a huge margin of innings & 303 runs. His knock in that game was very effective which helped Bengal to gain momentum and qualify for the finals of Ranji Trophy 2019/20 edition.
