The IPL 2024 fixture between five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) was surrounded by massive fixing claims after match referee Javagal Srinath flipped the coin to change the outcome of toss in favour of the Hardik Pandya-led franchise . However, this did not come into limelight at that particular moment, but was brought into the attention of the fans a day later.
However, just days after the match, the reality of the same has come into picture when Faf du Plessis, the RCB captain explained the entire incident to Pat Cummins, the Australian skipper, who is currently leading the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2024.
In one of the videos going viral on social media, Faf explained the entire incident right before the toss ahead of IPL 2024 match 30, which was played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, raising eyebrows on fixing in IPL.

It is to be noted that this is not the first-time fixing allegations have been encountered in the cash-rich league. In 2013, several players of the IPL franchises were even suspended after being found to be involved in a betting racket.
Speaking of the match between RCH and SRH, the home side won the toss and invited the Pat Cummins-led side to bat first. On the back of a century from Travis head and a crucial knock from Heinrich Klaasen, the Hyderabad-based franchise broke their own record to register the highest-ever score in IPL history. The match, which was won by the SRH by 25 runs margin, even saw register the highest aggregate in T20s overall.
