Cricket Australia on Saturday, February 3 confirmed that World Cup-winning star Travis Head will miss the remainder of white-ball series against West Indies. While Australia stands 1-0 up in the three-match ODI series, after an eight-wicket win on Friday at MCG, Travis Head has been released from the squad.

The 30-year-old will return home to Adelaide for a break ahead of Australia’s T20I and Test tour of New Zealand, scheduled to commence later this month. However, CA has not named Head’s replacement for the remainder of the series against West Indies.
Xavier Bartlett rested for second ODI vs West Indies
Moreover, Cricket Australia have decided to bench last match debutant Xavier Bartlett, who shone with the figures of 4/17, helping the hosts register an eight-wicket win in Melbourne. While the pacer is expected to make a return in the third ODI, set to be played at the manuka Oval in Canberra on February 6, Josh Hazlewood has been added to the squad.
CA in its statement added that the decision comes as part of his “ongoing management” after the 25-year-old missed the first half of the domestic season following his return from a back stress injury.
