After Suryakumar Yadav got to his maiden IPL hundred for Mumbai Indians against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023, the RCB opener Virat Kohli showered his praises on the man with a story caption on Instagram. He wrote, “Tula Maanla Bhau (Hats off brother),” while tagging SKY on the platform. In the last few weeks, Kohli has been quite active on social media in terms of appreciating his peers for their great achievements on the cricket field.

For the unversed, Hardik Pandya, the captain of Gujarat Titans, won the toss and chose to bowl against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. His decision wasn’t proven to be correct as the opening pair of captain Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan put together a 61-run stand inside the powerplay. After both the openers of MI were dismissed by Rashid Khan in one over, Suryakumar Yadav took over the mantle of scoring runs quickly for his team.

He laid into the Afghanistan T20 captain and the premier spinner of Gujarat Titans with a couple of fours early in his innings. Thereafter, the 32-year-old batter attacked Mohammed Shami and Alzarri Joseph efficiently to collect a few boundaries off them. He got to his fifty off 32 deliveries with six fours and two sixes in the 16th over of the Mumbai Indians innings.

From that point onwards, Suryakumar Yadav got into overdrive and smashed every GT bowler in sight. He scored his second fifty of the innings in just 17 balls to end up with the score of 103 not out. The hundred, filled with 11 fours and six maximums, was completed in 49 deliveries. Thanks to the heroics of SKY, Mumbai Indians got to a formidable score of 218/5 in their allotted 20 overs against Gujarat Titans.
