Sean O'Malley marked his historic UFC bantamweight title win over Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292 with a tattoo on his face. The 28-year-old fighter had said at the post-fight press conference that he would consider getting the word “champ” tattooed somewhere on his face. The champ has followed through with his promise and had the tattoo placed above a crown on his forehead.

"Suga" landed a perfect counter right hand that sent Aljamain Sterling face-first to the canvas before finishing the fight with follow-up shots to become the new UFC bantamweight champion at UFC 292. It was a near-perfect fight for the challenger, as he staved off a pair of takedown attempts from Sterling before landing the fight-ending shots.

After the fight, O'Malley said that he was considering getting a face tattoo to commemorate his title win. "I might get 'champ' on my face somewhere," he said at the post-fight press conference. O’Malley had CHAMP written above his right eye just below his hairline, as well as “MMXXIII,” the year 2023 in Roman numerals. The tattoo was done by artist Marcéllo F. C. Stefaniak, who has previously inked O’Malley, as well as several other MMA fighters, including Benson Henderson and Mario Bautista.

The bantamweight champion is well known for having tattoos on his face. He already has a face tattoo with the words "Suga" and "Dream" inked above each eye, as well as a flower and four green stars, in reference to his nicknames. The word "love" is appropriately placed next to the outline of a love heart under his right eye.
