Defending champions Real Madrid faced a frustrating 4-2 loss against Girona in La Liga on Tuesday at the Montilivi. During the match, the home fans chanted racist slurs against Los Blancos forward Vinicius Jr. At the same time, a Girona defender kicked a ball at the Brazilian after taking him down and the official showed a card to Vini for dissent.

With the loss against Girona, Real Madrid are now 11 points behind the league toppers Barcelona, who have played a game less than Carlo Ancelotti's men.

During the 36th minute in the first half, Vinicius tried to curve the ball from the corner for a cross but was deflected by the defender Santiago Bueno and both ran toward the ball. Bueno pushed Vinicius on the ground and kicked the ball at him in the follow-through, which didn't go well with the 22-year-old forward.  The Brazilian star immediately asked the referee to show a card for this play, however, the game official ignored the foul and continued the game. However, frustrated Vini kept complaining and the referee eventually booked him for dissent.

A Twitter page posted an update about the incident, where it stated, " Vinícius Jr was lying on the ground and the Girona player kicked the ball at him.  Vini complained, took a card and the opponent nothing. " The Brazilian star forward took to his official Twitter handle and retweeted the post with just one word. He wrote, " 😅 Laliga 😅 "

Talking about the game, Girona forward  Valentín Castellanos ran riots at home as he scored all four goals for his team against the Spanish giants.  Castellanos scored his first goal in the 12th minute and doubled his side's lead in the next 12 minutes. Later, in the second half, the Girona forward scored twice in the 46th and the 62nd minute. On the other hand, Vinicius Jr. and Lucas Vazquez scored two goals for Real Madrid in the 34th and the 85th minute respectively.
