Anitta, one of the most popular Brazilian singers and songwriters, sent out a message of support towards Vinicius Jr during the opening act of the UEFA Champions League Final. This European club showpiece was played between Manchester City and Inter Milan at Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey on June 10, Saturday as the English side won their first European final.
It was the solitary goal from Rodri in the 68th minute that allowed Manchester City to win the UCL title for the first time in their history. With this incredible victory, they also became the second club in the Premier League, after Manchester United, to complete the treble, i..e., holding the league, cup, and champions league trophies at the same time.
Meanwhile, earlier in the evening, Anitta went to the stage to give her performance in a glittering blue top, which had the initials “Vini Jr” written on it at the back. The support from Brazilian television host and actress for Vinicius Jr comes in the aftermath of the racial abuse suffered by the Real Madrid star from the Valencia fans at the Mestalla Stadium last month.
Shortly afterward, the Brazilian footballer took to his official Twitter account to appreciate the gesture from Anitta. He sent out a tweet, accompanied by a couple of pictures of the artist, with a powerful caption, “te amo (I love you),” while tagging her official account on the platform.
For the unversed, Raphinha, the star player from Barcelona, lent out his support to his fellow countryman Vinicius Jr in the fight against racism recently. He actually revealed his message written on this undershirt during a football match against Valladolid, which read, “As long as the colour of the skin is more important than the brightness of the eyes, there will be war... We are with you, Vini!”
In response to the kind gesture, Vinicius Jr tweeted out a couple of images of the message. He simply captioned it, “RAPHINHA.”
