Former India skipper Virat Kohli is regarded as one of the fittest sportspersons across various sporting disciplines. One of the top batters, Kohli has time and again set benchmarks with his fitness standards. The 34-year-old is considered a fitness icon and is regularly seen doing gruelling exercises in the gym and working rigorously on his body. Followed by millions, the India great has always kept his fitness on priority, and as a result, he cleared the yo-yo test ahead of Asia Cup 2023 with flying colours.

With Asia Cup 2023 less than a week away, the Indian Cricket Team arrived at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for training camp before flying to Sri Lanka. Before the marquee event, the former Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper underwent the yo-yo test and passed it with a brilliant score of 17.2.

Expressing elation, the Delhi-born posted a story on his Instagram account and wrote, “The happiness of passing the yo-yo test between the dreaded cones. 17.2 done.”

Notably, the yo-yo test is an assessment of an athlete’s fitness and measures their capacity to sustain prolonged periods of athletic output. The test involves cones that are placed apart at certain distances.

The players are required to run in between them, and the distance gets shorter eventually. Speaking of the ACC event, the Asia Cup will commence on August 30, and India will begin their campaign on September 2 by taking on Pakistan.
