The Indian cricketing superstar, Virat Kohli, is likely to make his first public appearance in nearly two months at the “RCB Unbox” event, set to go down on March 19, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Just three days later, Royal Challengers Bangalore will be playing the IPL 2024 opener against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
After playing in the final T20I of the home series against Afghanistan on January 17, coincidentally at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Virat Kohli took a break from cricket citing personal reasons. The former Indian captain missed out on the five-match Test series at home against England in the last couple of months, and during that time, on February 15, he and his wife Anushka Sharma welcomed their second child named “Akaay.”
Royal Challengers Bangalore took to their official X account to announce the RCB Unbox event set for March 19, where they will have “surprises and special announcements,” for the RCB fans. The tickets for the event will be going on sale on Saturday, March 9, only on the RCB website and app.
Earlier on March 8, Star Sports, the official TV rights holder for the IPL telecast in India, also dropped a video of the recent interview of Virat Kohli alongside Jatin Sapru. In the short clip, the RCB player was talking about his love for the IPL, in regards to the tournament allowing players to create a “camaraderie” with each other irrespective of their nationalities.
“I absolutely love IPL, also because of the camaraderie you share, so many new players you play with, so many players that you've known for a long time who are not from your own country, whom you don't see often,” said Virat Kohli on the Star Sports interview.
