After Day 1 of the ongoing third Test at The Gabba in Brisbane was washed away after only 13.2 overs being bowled, Day 2 resumed a little early. The two sides, who came into this fixture hoping for some exciting game like the one which took place four years ago, saw India get some crucial wickets with pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah setting the tone in the first session on Sunday, December 15.
The pace spearhead got the crucial wickets of Australia openers, Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney before Nitish Kumar Reddy sent Marnus Labuschagne packing. The crucial wicket of Labuschagne, who scored a half-century in Adelaide after a disappointing outing in the Perth Test, was dismissed scoring 12 runs off 55 deliveries.

The crucial wicket of the Aussie batter came in the 34th over of the first Australian inning. Reddy bowled a full, outside off delivery which Labuschagne thought to hit for a nice drive. But in the process, Labuschagne got a thick outside edge with the ball landing straight into Kohli’s hand at second slip. Soon after completing the catch, Kohli ran in to celebrate and performed the silence celebration, shushing the Gabba crowd.
The gesture from the 36-year-old came seeing what has been going around the boundary ropes. Kohli instead thought of giving it back to the fans with the finger on the lips gesture, video of which has been making rounds on social media.
