A similar heroic effort was seen in Ranji Trophy 2022 game between Baroda and Chandigarh, happening in Bhubaneshwar. With his side in trouble, a 29-year-old Vishnu Solanki came out to bat just a few days after attending the funeral of his late new-born daughter. It was never going to be easy for him to focus on the game with so much pain inside his heart. But Solanki is a fighter!

The talented right-handed batsman, who has been a prolific run-scorer for Baroda in domestic circuit, produced a masterclass display of batting on Friday. On a day when so much would have been going through his head, Solanki kept his calm and went on to score an emotional ton.

After reaching his century, he paused and looked towards heaven with his teammates applauding him from the dressing room. Solanki made a 'baby' gesture and dedicated the brilliant century to his late daughter in a heartfelt moment. The millions of emotions on Solanki's face were quite evident and there would be someone in heaven really proud of what the cricketer did on Friday.

Solanki ended the day unbeaten on 103* off 161 balls, a knock which featured 12 boundaries. At stumps on Day 2, Baroda's score read as 398/7 giving them a healthy 230-run lead over Chandigarh in first innings.
