VVS Laxman, the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), won't be going to Ireland with the Indian side for the three-match T20I series that starts on August 18. India will be under Jasprit Bumrah, who is playing competitive cricket for the first time in a long time against Ireland.

Former India cricketer Laxman was believed to join the tour because head coach Rahul Dravid and his support staff were in the US for the final two T20 Internationals against the West Indies. But Sitanshu Kotak and Sairaj Bahutule, among others, will be a part of the Indian support team in the Ireland series, according to a Cricbuzz report.
The BCCI selection committee has brought together a young Indian team, but all eyes will be on Bumrah, who comebacks to competitive play after an 11-month absence. In the series, Chennai Super Kings star Ruturaj Gaikwad will serve as Bumrah's deputy. It will not just put Bumrah to the test but also show the Indian management how well he will perform at home during the 2023 ICC World Cup.
