The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to appoint former Indian batter VVS Laxman as the coach of the Indian team for the Australia series after the World Cup, as per reports. The Men in Blue will lock horns in a five-match T20 series against Australia will begin in Visakhapatnam on November 23.

Similarly, reports by PTI, also reveal that the BCCI could decide to rest senior players, who are part of the ODI World Cup. Instead, players who were part of the recent Ireland series and the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China. Further, the report reveals that Sitansu Kotak could be the batting coach. Kotak is also expected to be the coach of India 'A' team for the South Africa series.
The PTI report also quoted a BCCI source, who on condition of anonymity, shared the development and was quoted saying, "VVS Laxman has always been in charge when Rahul has taken a break and same thing is likely to continue for the series just after the World Cup."
Further, a report by Insidesport reveals, younger players like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson. The source quoted in Insidesport's report said, “There is time. Some of the guys will get a break after the World Cup. And yes, it will be an opportunity for someone like Ruturaj, Yashasvi, or Sanju to do well and cement their place. It’s up to the selectors who they want to see in that team.”
