The Pakistan fast bowling legend Waqar Younis took to his official X account to hail Jasprit Bumrah for bowling a “magic” inswinging yorker to castle Ollie Pope during the second India versus England second Test match. Known as one of the greatest exponents of reverse swing bowling, Waqar Younis used to deliver inswinging yorkers at will during his international career.

When a user on X tagged Waqar Younis in a post asking him about whether Jasprit Bumrah’s yorker reminds him of anyone, he responded, “Can’t think of anyone,” with the winking face emoji. He also called the Ollie Pope’s dismissal as “Bumrah’s Magic,” following it up with a shocked emoji, to showcase how much he enjoyed a fast bowler replicating his exploits in such a grand manner.
At stumps on Day 3 of the second Test match at the Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, England are 67/1 in their pursuit of a 399-run target against India. In the final session of day’s play, India were bundled out for just 255 runs in their second innings despite the much-needed hundred from Shubman Gill.
Earlier in the Test, India had scored 396 runs in their first innings, thanks mainly to the first double hundred from Yashasvi Jaiswwal in his long format career. It led to Jasprit Bumrah delivering one of his best spells in Test cricket, picking up figures of 6/45, which included the yorker to bowl out Ollie Pope, the centurion from the first match of the series.
