Former Pakistan cricketer and commentator Wasim Akram lashed out at Pakistan Cricket Board for not including Imran Khan in the tribute video. On August 14, the Pakistan board posted a video on its social handles that included all their cricketing icons, celebrating the country's Independence Day. However, to everyone’s surprise, former cricketer and PM Imran Khan wasn't part of the video. This didn’t go well with many, including Akram.
The former captain took to Twitter to lash out at the cricket governing body and asked it to delete the video and apologise to Khan. Akram tweeted, “After long flights and hours of transit before reaching Sri Lanka, I got the shock of my life when I watched PCB’s short clip on the history of Pakistan cricket minus the great Imran Khan…”
The 57-year-old added, “Political differences apart but Imran Khan is an icon of world cricket and developed Pakistan into a strong unit in his time and gave us a pathway… PCB should delete the video and apologise."
